My voice

I lost my voice
I used to shout and they would hear
I used to talk and they would listen
And even when I sang, they'd stand and applaud

I lost my voice
It's hoarse and brittle
It couldn't sustain long
Couldn't catch my breath even for a little

I lost my voice
I lost the charm
I lost the ability to encourage
To inspire, to challenge, to change

I lost my voice
But I try to whisper
Whisper, so some could hear
Even when I feel like a stutter

Oh yes, I lost my voice
But I try to tune it
So some could feel
What others may fail to achieve

I will find that voice again
And be able to shout and inspire
Finding and treading on these soft grounds
I know, I will get to know freedom
