We settled on the sofa
Preparing to end our hectic week,
The hustle and bustle of our daily life

Thankfully, the kids are already asleep
It's just you and I
A touch of soft light from the lamp
To top off a relaxing night

We don't need so much these days, you and I
A series maybe, or videoke is enough
No more fancy restaurants
No more loud noises at the bars

We went past the days
When you would've thought
Of sweeping me off my feet
Beyond the flowers and gifts

Just these cozy nights with you
With your arms around
(and sometimes a kiss or two, giggles)
