Give Love 2009: Adopt a Child, Adopt a Tree

I'm so excited for our Give Love activity ^_^ Our theme for this year is the Adopt a Child, Adopt a Tree. It's a two-program event wherein the Adopt a Child program aims to provide environmental awareness to street kids and that the Adopt a Tree aims to support the local ecology by planting seedlings for the La Mesa Eco Park.

In the Adopt a Child program, we are partnering with the CCF Street Kids Ministry. We bring the kids to Eco Park and let them enjoy a surrounding filled with trees and fresh air. Through this, we hope that each kid will remember a joyous moment in their life and will instill in them a love for the environment. And because of this, we hope that in return they become aware of our current situation (i.e., global warming) and be able to value the worth of our environment.

The Adopt a Tree program is meant for the adults. This is the Jologs' way of saying we value Mother Earth and we wanted to save her from degradation.

Originally, the outreach program was set to a 16K budget. But because of the persistence of our team members, we were able to raise as much as 32K for our activity ^_^ Kudos to the sponsors and volunteers! ^_^

With this, we have so much activity lined up for the programs. I really do hope that the kids will enjoy as well as the adults ^_^
